ive gone through this process thouh i cant get ffxi to work i still get the error while running pol.exe that i dont have access privlages
playonline cannot write to the specific destination folder please check your access privlages

One thing you can do is run C:\WINDOWS\system32\Regedt32.exe, or C:\windows\regedt (Windows XP uses Regedt32) then search for the *.dll that you have moved, or that should be there. In either case you should find it. If you did not find it, then the registration did not occur. If you do find it, then you should see that the path is correct for the subdirectory location. This can be changed easily within Regedt itself. As I am totally new to Windower I may be in left field, as this may be something that is specified in an INI file, altho I did not see any files in my install that would indicate that to be the case.
another method from step 7 to 12 is to do this.
Save into a .bat file, and put it in PlayOnline\SquareEnix\
