What is BlinkMeNot

BlinkMeNot Prevents the loss of your current target when a player changes gear by temporarily blocking gear changes.

This will greatly help enhancing and healing jobs who frequently lose targets due to equipment swaps of their current target.

Upon detargetting said person, the players equipment will automatically update to what it should of been that was blocked.

Usage

BlinkMeNot can be loaded by opening your Windower console and typing load blinkmenot or typing //load blinkmenot into the game chat.

You can see the command list by typing //bmn into chat.

Modes

BlinkMeNot has 3 block types: Current target, When in combat, and Always.

Each of these settings have a self and others option, allowing you to specify enabling or disabling the protection on yourself and others. Some users wish to always see themselves blink, so disabling all self protections will never block your own model updates.

BlinkMeNot also includes protection for the person you are currently following. This protection can not be disabled.

Commands

All commands function as toggles when a value is not speficied

Command Value Description
alwaysself <on/off> - Prevents blinking of yourself completely.
alwaysothers <on/off> - Prevents blinking of other players completely.
combatself <on/off> - Prevents blinking of yourself while in combat.
combatothers <on/off> - Prevents blinking of other players while in combat.
targetself <on/off> - Prevents blinking of your current target of yourself.
targetothers <on/off> - Prevents blinking of your current target of another player.

Known Issues

  • [UNCONFIRMED WITH 2.10, MAY BE FIXED] If you have someone targeted and they change gear, when you detarget the person they will return to their model they are suppose to be.
Now, if you detarget said person, then immediately retarget them right before the manual update triggers (about a 500 ms window), it will still blink you.

This problem should only happen if you change target quickly and then change back quickly, and if you leave Block Combat on, it should not be a problem really unless your not in combat in first place (the main place youll be spamming targets quickly)

To fix this will require an update to Windower itself, which will be a plugin API update which means not until 3.5.

So just take note of that for now.

Credits

Idea and original implementation was thought of and created by Taj, then Aikar completely rewrote it and made it into a much more usable implementation that was ready for release.
